Icelandic Poppy Seed Head

This card has been sitting in my head ever since I saw Jane's gorgeous Icelandic Poppy Seed Head image. As you can see, I also used it to make my own background paper, by resizing the image and rotating it for variety.   The colours were inspired by a blouse that I have and you can find more details of my card here on my blog, with the image here in Janey's Digi Designs.

Aquilegia Foliage

The delightful Aquilegia Foliage is from Janey's Dig Designs! I resized the digi twice and printed it directly on designer paper then added a little distress ink! Easy to create with and if you change the sentiment it could be used for different occasions or include the image along with floral embellishments.

Garden Notes...

... last year I had lots of things  (well a few - my borders arent that big :-) ) that I wanted to change, because things grew in funny directions or got really huge - yes Hebe I'm talking about you.

So it comes to thinking of this year and now I cant remember what I was going to do!!!!  so using one of Janeys images I've made (or tarted up) this notepad from Asda (other supermarkets are available) so that I can be quite organised and make notes of what needs doing:

I printed the fern image directly onto patterned paper and then cut out.  Used my labels die for the title and then added papers and scraps of ribbon from my stash.

Just need a bit of warmth to get into the garden - but for now I'll keep looking at Janeys images to get my all inspired :-)

Those Lazy Hazy Days….

A (161) - Copy
Ok listen up Mother Nature!
Tiz the middle of March now & here in damp, drizzly, windswept & occasional frost-bitten Blighty it really should be warming up.
If you could just turn the ol’ thermostat up a notch & blow the dark clouds away, even if it’s just for a day or two, one would be rather grateful…Thank you!
Yours faithfully

I made a pull out tab for the sentiment

Don’t Leaf It Out!

A (162) - Copy
Now….don’t look at me in a weird way…(weirder than normal that is)…but I have a ‘thing’ for foliage. When looking for plants for the garden it’s not all about the flowers it’s also about what’s there before & after the blooms have faded. You may well have huge, bright, blousy petals or a scent sweet enough to fill the poshest perfumery but for me it’s like buying a complete outfit, looking your best from head to toe.
The Aquilegia fits the bill… delicate, neat, fern-like foliage that holds onto the morning dew like tiny diamonds and tall, slender stems topped with flowers that almost seem too shy to share their beauty as you sometimes have to lift their heads to appreciate them.
So a big shout out for foliage from me today (maybe I am a tad weird).
